N8N Chat UI is the front end for a chatbot whose brain you build in n8n. You design a popup bubble or an in-page chat window in a visual editor with live preview (colors, fonts, avatars, welcome messages, starter prompts, custom CSS, right-to-left languages), connect it to an n8n Chat Trigger or webhook, and paste one snippet into your site. Widgets support streaming replies, voice messages, file uploads, Markdown and HTML replies, and pass page or user details to your workflow as metadata; a JavaScript API lets you open chats or send messages from your own buttons. There are plugins for WordPress, Webflow, Wix and Shopify, an n8n community node, and an MCP server so Claude, Cursor or VS Code can create and restyle widgets. It comes in two forms: Standalone widgets (one-time license, your page talks straight to n8n) and Managed widgets (prepaid credits, routed through its proxy so your webhook URL stays hidden, with domain locks, country limits, rate limits and analytics). It says it doesn’t store chat messages. It is an independent product, not made by n8n; it launched on the n8n forum in April 2025, was bought by new owners in August 2026, and was #4 on Product Hunt on October 26, 2026.

Who should skip it

Anyone who doesn’t use n8n (or another backend that returns JSON), since it is only the chat window, not the AI. Also skip if you need live human takeover today: the owners say full takeover isn’t built yet, and handoff currently goes through Slack, email or a helpdesk ticket via your workflow. Remember your n8n executions and AI model costs are billed separately.
